Why faithfully attend church? 1. God’s Word tells us JESUS said that He will be there with us! Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. 2. God’s Word tells us when we are faithful we are encouraging others to love God and do good works! Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 3. I was thinking this morning what it is like getting older… Now if you tell someone you had a fall they are not is surprised at you fell but that you got up. People seldom call your after 9:00 because they think you are or should be in bed. Now there is no such thing as the easy way or the hard way for you EVERYTHING IS HARD. You more likely to expire before the expiration date on much the food in your cupboard. People don’t ask you where your parents live because they assume they are dead. You start thinking about bed around 7:30. People are alarmed if you tell them you just did something on an ladder. If you are laying on the floor you are either trying to get something under the bed or you fell down. You consider a cup of coffee in the morning as important as taking your pills. You are actually interested in hearing about other people's operations. You know several different ways to get to your hospital. You are on a first name basis with the ladies at the clinic. Your children are older than most of the doctors at the clinic. You enjoy the weather channel. You no longer hold your stomach in because you no longer care. Your arms are either too short or too long to read the newspaper. Putting your socks and shoes on is the extent of your morning exercises. The hairs in your nose and ears grow faster than the hair on your head. The notes you write so you will not forget important things mean nothing to before the day is out. You have trouble eating the all fries from a kids meal at Culvers. None of your kids want all the things you saved for them. A last one for the ladies –YOU KNOW a man named “David” the star of QVC.

Happy Mother’s day! I was thinking of my mother and found myself being convicted that I was not as appreciative as I should have been towards my mother. Did You Ever Thank Your Mother For: 1. for enduring the pain of your birth and not holding it against you? 2. for feeding you? 3. for changing your diapers and cleaning you up when your were sick? 4. for the clothes and shoes you needed? 5. for your room, your bed, your bike, your toys… etc.? 6. for putting up with your ingratitude, our selfishness and your temper? 7. for caring for you when you were sick? 8. for disciplining you? – Pro 29:15 9. for loving you? *************************************************************** God Declares There Is A Generation That Hates Their Parents Proverbs 30:11 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. Caterpillars and Butterflies 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. My wife received a phone call several years ago with the news that one of her relatives had passed away. She was only in her early sixties. She had suffered for several years with Alzheimer’s. I could see my wife had been crying. A sadness filled me too as I remembered how the same disease had affected and ultimately took my mother. Linda’s cousin was a Christian and a good wife and mother. After a short time my wife came into my study again but this time she had a smile on her face. She said to me, “What a wonderful reunion my cousin is having today with my mother and father, and my aunts and uncles. She named the names of many of her relatives that she thought her cousin would be rejoicing with in heaven. Linda had more tears but they were not tears of sorrow but tears of joy as she considered these things. I read a short story in book the other day of a man who was speaking about of the death of a caterpillar. Following the caterpillar’s death his fellow caterpillars gathered to take their friend to the graveyard . The caterpillars were all dressed in black and wept openly as they went carrying the corpse of their friend to his grave. As they went with their faces to the ground they did not notice that above them fluttered a beautiful butterfly. The butterfly been freed from that earthly shell that his friends were carrying below. Now the caterpillar really was what is was all along not a caterpillar but a butterfly in waiting. Let us remember that if we are saved what we really are all along; we are “saints”, “sons of God”, and “children of God.” We might look like fleshy, sinful, worms to those around us but we are not. One day we too will be changed. One we will appear as what we really are. Let us remember this world is not our home, heaven is our home. Let us remember this body is not our glorified body. When saints die let us not forget that when they die they are changed and they are raised incorruptible. Let our sorrow for their departure be swallowed up with rejoicing when we consider what has really taken place. Let us not look down at their the grave or their empty corpse, let us look up, for now they are in a reality freed from their old earthly habitation. Let us remember they are now with the Christ who died for them They are with the Christ who they had prayed to and asked to save them. Rejoice for they are now also enjoying a grand reunion with their saved relatives and friends who preceded them in heaven. Let our tears of sorrow be turned to tears of joy for the one we loved and cared for are free at last. Pastor Clyde Ewers

That all men would be without partiality or hypocrisy -17c e. That all men would be peacemakers -18 f. That all men would have righteousness and peace sown in them -18 ************************************************************ ANGER is only one letter short of DANGER In a world that “could care less,” Christ wants us to care more. If you are really looking for God, you will find in Jesus! If you are really looking for Jesus you will find God!

How To Have A Marriage That God Will Bless 1. Both husband and wife must be saved a. The relationship a person has with God when they get saved is likened to a marriage relationship Romans 7:4 b. The new relationship in marriage makes 2 people “ONE” in the eyes of God. Mark 10:7-8 c. This new relationship is sanctified by Jesus. John 17:21 2. Both husband and wife must build their “house” upon the Word of God. Mark 3:25 Matthew 7:24 a. REMEMBER every couple will face trials Matthew 7:25 b. AND if they build their house on the right foundation it will not fall Matthew 7:25b c. BUT if they DO NOT it will fall Matt 7:26-27 (1) Couples who reject God’s Word are foolish (2) Homes not built upon the right foundation will fall 3. Both husbands and wives have a personal responsibility to God a. Both must mutually submit themselves to God Ephesians 5:21 b. Both must mutually choose God’s way Proverbs 14:12 Proverbs 30:12-13 READ AGAIN the Words of JESUS – Matthew 7:23-27 READ THE RESPONSE to Words of Jesus - Matthew 7:28-29 ******************************************************** John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
